Refund policy
At JK’s Leather Belts, we take immense pride in crafting quality products. Because of the deeply bespoke and artisanal nature of our work, please review our policy regarding returns, exchanges, and refunds before finalizing your order.
The Beauty of Handmade Leather
Every single belt we produce is handcrafted by human hands, not mass-produced by automated factory machinery.
- Natural Character: Because we use 100% full-grain buffalo leather, variations in grain structure, natural markings, scars, scratches and subtle tone shading are normal and celebrated.
- Unique Details: No two belts are completely identical. Cosmetic nuances reflect the authentic, artisan process and ensure your item is a true one-of-a-kind original. These characteristics do not constitute manufacturing defects.
- The Break-In Process: True to the natural properties of high-quality leather, your strap will soften significantly over time and mould uniquely to the shape of your body.
- Rubbing & Twisting: As you wear the belt daily, the strap may naturally twist or curve to match your posture, and the edges may show rubbing or character wear from contact with your belt loops. These are not defects—they are the natural, expected behaviours of leather aging gracefully with your lifestyle.
Custom & Personalised Orders (All Belts)
Because our belts are highly customized—cut precisely to your requested measurements, tailored to your choice of individual strap colours and buckle styles, and uniquely personalized with hand-stamped initials—we cannot accept returns, cancellations, or exchanges for change of mind or incorrect sizing.
Once a hide is cut to your specific waist size and stamped with your initials, that item cannot be resold. All sales on customized or personalized belts are strictly final (including the belts with no initials).
How to Prevent Sizing Issues
To ensure your custom belt fits perfectly from day one, please carefully follow the sizing instructions listed on each product detail page before checking out:
-
Best way to size your new belt, is to use your old one:
- Place your old belt straight and flat on the table and measure the strap from the fold (excluding the buckle) to the prong hole that you currently use. This will be the position of the middle hole of your new belt.

-
Alternatively:
- Trousers/Jeans Belts: Order exactly one size up (1-2 inches longer) from your standard well-fitting trouser/jeans waist size.
- Dress Belts: Measure your exact waistline over the clothing you plan to wear and order belt 1-2 inches longer.
Damaged or Faulty Items
While we do not accept standard returns, your satisfaction remains our absolute priority. In the rare event that your item arrives with a genuine structural defect (such as broken hardware or structural leather splitting) or if we made an error fulfilling your requested size/initials:
- Contact us within 14 days of receiving your package.
- Email us at
jk.leatherbelts@gmail.comwith your order number and clear photographs of the issue. - If an error or structural defect is confirmed, we will gladly arrange a complimentary repair or craft a replacement for you at no additional charge.
- Please note that the above applies exclusively if the product has been used only for its intended purpose, in line with the Care and Maintenance instructions and Storage recommendations specified below (also included on the invoice).
Care and Maintenance:
- Wipe the belt with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth after each use to remove dust, sweat, and body oils. For deeper cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth with a small amount of mild, pH-balanced leather cleaner or saddle soap, wiping gently in circular motions.
- Apply a high-quality leather conditioner or balm every 6 to 12 months to replenish natural oils and keep the leather supple. Always test the product on an inconspicuous area first, as some oils may darken the leather.
- If the belt gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or artificial heat sources (like radiators or hair dryers).
Storage recommendation:
- Store the belt by hanging it vertically on a belt rack or peg to help it retain its shape and prevent creasing. Rolling it loosely is an alternative if space is limited.
- Do not roll the belt too tightly or fold it, as this can cause permanent creases or cracks in the leather.
- Keep the belt in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place.
- Protect the belt from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive heat, and high moisture or humidity, which can dry out the leather, cause fading, or encourage mould growth.
- Rotate Belts: If you wear a belt daily, alternate it with another one to allow each belt to fully dry from body sweat and oils, which extends its lifespan and prevents stretching.
